Import Process

The import process using Japan Auto Auctions is simple and easy.

We take the pain out of getting your car out of Japan and on a vessel to you.

But before you ask us to buy a car for you as a Japanese used car exporter, there is one very important thing to check first locally. What cars am I allowed to import to my country? Every country’s laws and regulations regarding the import of used cars are different. Some don’t even allow import cars from Japan at all, so it’s important to check with your local registration authorities and customs regarding import laws, duties and GST/VAT.

So you know what you can import and have decided what you want to purchase through a used car exporter.
  1. Get in contact with us by the webmail contact form or if a dealer/importer apply for a new account. Please give us as much detail as you can.
  2. Yes I want to bid and buy cars. Send us a deposit as discussed in business basics.
  3. We buy your car and it goes to our workshop for pre-ship check and more photos for you.
  4. Pay the balance owing within 7 days of purchase.
  5. We book the car on the next available vessel.
  6. We prepare the necessary documentation for export, have the car cleared through Japanese customs and loaded aboard.
  7. We send you the shipping documents, de-registration certificate and any translations required by EMS post.
  8. Your car arrives at your port, it’s cleared through customs and you pay the freight etc. We recommend you use a local customs/freight agent for this.
  9. Comply and register your car and then drive off happily into the sunset!
